Anyone here sexually active? How often do you get an STD scan? I just found out that they actually do that in the Red building with the school nurse. It makes it so much easier now I don't have to go to this scary looking building to get a test done any more.

You should be tested before having unprotected sex with a partner regardless of if you are a hoe or not a hoe. Herpes leaps from the toilet seat indiscriminatly.

a urethral swab? I've never had one of those. Sounds super painful though. :S Are you sure the doctor who did that to you (or whomever got it) was certified, and not some crazy person off the street?

the urethral swab is for a complete std test, im pretty sure just about everything but genital lice will be detected. never had it done to myself...just thinking about it makes me cringe...oh sweet jesus!

you cant get herpes from a toilet seat. a person has to have an outbreak and your genitals and to come in direct contact with it. weather it be on their genitals or on their mouth. there are two kinds,, but i dont really remember what they are about. anyway,, its good to get tested at least once a year,, or if you are changing partners it is a good idea to get tested.

if you have cold soars you'll test positive for herpes, seeing as how it's the same virus just a different strand. you can get herpes if you use something an open soar has touched.....also you can have the virus and never have an outbreak.
I think though there is a little something else that is actually life threating and dangerous to get check for.......

yeah herpes is a scary one cause you can get it even if you are wearing a condom... the chances are lower,, but you can still get them. very scary... although this girl from my highschool,, her and her roomate were having this contest to see who could sleep with the most guys that year... i heard it was over 60 aparently,,, and she caught it,, too bad too shes like21 or 22 i think.
herpes is for life. at least most of the other stds are just temporary if you get them treated fast enough.
either way,, getting tested frequently is very important and everyone should be doing it. by doing it i mean getting tested.

yes and you could just do it in the red building from school isn't that convinience? I think I will get tested soon just in case if set on some herpe infested chair. Actually herpe isn't that scary its not life threating or anything its just annoying when it come and go. I just don't understand why they haven't find a cure for any viral infestions yet. like what is the deal with that? they were only able to cure baterial infection not viral. yet the bateria are all coming back with a vangence. with all the multi drug resistent strand which they have to kill off by using anti biotic that most likely would have killed anyone be4 they cure them. Has modern science fail us once again? or did the bateria became post modern bateria?

if we could get herpes from chairs... everyone would have them. anyway.. yeah i guess ppl are working on cures... and yeah at least its not life thretening.. but still it must be really hard to meet someone and have a relationship if you have that. pretty sad actually.

actually I saw it in a commercial where this pretty woman in her 20s talking about her herpe and they made it all positive and crap there was a web site for it too. I guess if shes not shy about it everyone shouldn't. I just don't understand how people get cold sour tho espeically children

To answer yer question eddy, they still can't find cures for virures because viruses are constantly changing and mutating according to different environments. So, even though you may find a cure for one virus, there's the possibility that another strain of the same one is on the loose, and another vaccine will need to be found for that. Viruses are like gay guys - you just can't group them together 'cause there are so many kinds. Like always, though, you always get the annoying ones that are a pain in the ass.

Some diseases can be passed down through bloodlines, so that's how kids (who are not sexually active) can get them. I'd say get tested every time you have a new partner. If you're a one night stand kind of person, Every couple of months maybe? The best test is to get a blood test in the hospital. They check for everything, including HIV, but you have to ask for it.
